Cheating's Fun

Cheating maybe wrong but when it's for small things that aren't really a big deal, like when you're playing spoons with a group of friends, it sure is fun. And I'm not alone here...I don't want to name any names but I will say that J, E, and C you know you all like it and do it too. It's even funnier when you tell. Wanna cheat? I found some silly little games where the point is to cheat:
Cheater, Cheat, Cheating

Sweet 16...What?!

What is going on in the sweet 16?! Who would have ever thought that things would be as they are? First off LSU is going to the top 8 because, yes I'm serious, they BEAT Duke. Duke as in the number 1 seated team over all in this tourney. Not anymore. Bye Bye Duke. Next WVU comes back at the last second actually with 5 secs left to hit a 3pt shot to tie up the game and loses to Texas due to a 3pt shot from way outside with only .8of 1 sec left. Then finally we're watching the Gonzaga vs. UCLA game, where Gonz leads the whole time. Adam Morrison, the leading scorer in the country, is having a wonderful game. And then as a last minute shocker UCLA steals the ball with less than 3 secs and takes the game right out from under Morrison. So, as of last night we have Memphis, LSU, UCLA, and Texas in the final 8. I'm sure that many of you have some seriously messed up brackets. I feel your pain.

March Maddness

So I don't know how many of you have been watching march maddness but I have gotten hooked on it this year. I don't normally watch it, at least not consistantly, but for some reason this year I have been following it. Maybe it has to do with the fact tha LSU IS STILL IN IT! At one time LSU basketball was a power house but it's been a while. But how about that LSU v A&M game I mean 1 pt with only 3.9 secs left that's crazy. And who in a million years had brackets that foresaw UNCs loss to GMU. And the Hoyas take down THE Ohio State University. Placing two schools from my area in the sweet 16 and also giving GMU a home court advantage considering the next games will be played at the MCI center here in DC. So who takes it all? Duke? UConn? Memphis...yeah right. I go with UConn.

BABY

My friend Konni is having a baby! I'm sure most of you who read this blog know this already since I just mentioned it a few post back. But she's now having it really soon. Gabe is due on the 3rd of April. In fact he's SSOOO big right now that she's going to be induced if she hasn't gone into labor before that. None of us can believe that our friends are old enough to start having babies. Just seems crazy I mean just meer years ago our biggest concerns were I think he's cute but he doesn't know I'm alive and I hope I get an A on that test and I have two days to finish that paper that was assigned last month. My how the times they have changed. YAY BABY!

A Trip Home

I came home to New Orleans for the week. It's been 7 months since Katrina passed through and devasted the area. My mom and dad are still having work done but all in all the house looks good. All the floors have been redone and walls have been painted, the roof has been replaced and in our neighborhood it really does look as if life will return in full force. However, today I went out to Mereax, a small town where my friend Konni and her family had lived for years, and I went into their house. It was absolutely horrible. The family room was just black and piled high with junk and mold and the grass was over grown. Everything was just destroyed. This was part of the city that not until sept 21 could people get into that neighborhood to even look. Katrina went through on Aug 28 in case you didn't know. However, there were people everywhere. Residents, volunteers, students, young and old working on houses. They are determined to come back to life. Although many of these houses were flooded for more than a month and covered in mold and oil they are returning already and will continue to until life is back as it should be.

Quantum Leap

So, I don't know how many of you watched or even remember the tv show Quantum Leap, but recently our friend Kendi brought over the show on dvd and my roommate and I have become addicted. We can quit at any time. But seriously it's an awesome show.
So I ask...if you could travel anywhere in time during your life time (example: I was born in 1980 so I could 'leap' to DC and watch Reagan in office.) Where and when would you go and what would you do while you were there?

no accent, so sad

This is my roommate Suzanne. She is from Texas and thinks she should have a southern accent but she doesn't. I too am from the south and I too have no accent. I wish Suzanne didn't have to fake her accent and could just speak normally with a southern accent. Poor Suzanne.
